背景 Introduction: The poaching of white and black rhinos remains scourge in Botswana and the rest of the world. The rhinos surviving in the wilderness of Okavango delta are threatened by the rampant poachers. The Khama rhino Sanctuary in Botswana remains the success story of sustainable protection of the rhinos in the world. It is with, this that Khama Rhino Sanctuary has remained safe heaven for the rhinos since 1998. The sanctuary has a health population of both white and black rhinos through the support of BWA and international volunteers. The objective of the workcamp is to maintain support for the protection and restoration of the facilities in the habitat of these rhinos and also provide awareness and campaign for protection of rhino population worldwide.

宿泊 Accommodation: Volunteers are accommodated at the camp sites, where fire and hot water are provided. Volunteers should bring their own tents, sleeping bags, repellents, and mosquito bags. Khama Rhino Sanctuary can receive good rains during December and volunteers should bring rain coats, waterproof sheeting for tents or waterproof tents and warm clothing to wear during rainy days. Volunteers should bring strong shoes to enable working in hard and sandy terrains.

集合場所 Transport hub: Volunteer are responsible for their own travel arrangements i.e organizing their own transport and passports. BWA is not a travel agency but will help where possible. We communicate with other partner organizations and with the person who wish to come by either, telephone or e-mail with regular update regarding the work camp. When using South African route, participants can take an Intercape and Flight Connect buslines from Johannesburg in South Africa to Gaborone, Botswana or they can also use the Air Botswana flight and/or South African Airline. 資格 Qualifications: All volunteers should bring authentic COVID-19 vaccination proof through cards or electronic certificates. COVID-19 vaccination certificate has QR code for scanning at the ports of entry. Volunteers should seek assistance from heath authorities in their country of origin for authentic COVID-19 vaccination proof. Anyone with no vaccination proof should present authentic PCR tests of less 72 hours
備考 Language: English is the medium of communication during the workcamp. Any other language can be used, strictly for exchange purposes. Volunteers are allowed to teach each other their home country languages e.g. A French speaking volunteer can offer French language classes to other non-speaking French volunteers. The same applies to German specking volunteers. They can teach German to other volunteers.

主催者・支援機関詳細 1980 年、内務省に登録されたNGO 、Botswana Workcamp Association。若者が地域の社会・経済状況を知り、地域を改善する意識と行動を盛り上げ、状況を改善し、異文化理解を狙う。ワークや運営が充実していないことが時々あり、柔軟性・適応力が必要。
前日にオリエンテーションがあるため、開催2日前までに到着すること。
