コード DaLaa-6907
プログラム名 Ban Khuan Mit School
開催期間 2026/07/05(日)~2026/07/17(金)
背景 After a successful first 2 days English camp at the small rural School of Ban Khuan Mit in July 2025, we decided to renew the experience with bringing international volunteers for a full workcamp of 12 days. The English teacher Sakina, initiator of the project, is a former DaLaa international volunteer. She managed to involve Mr. Touchide Jutiprapak, the school director, the other teachers, and even a part of the local community of this remote area of South Thailand to welcome the volunteers and bring a wonderful experience to the students. The main focus is to provide an open window to the world through English language activities; the immersion in the community will be very present.
Ban Khuan Mit School is located in South Thailand, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, about 20 kilometers from the district town of Cha-uat. The school lies on a high plain with a hot and humid climate. The surrounding community is religiously diverse, with both Thai Buddhists and Thai Muslims living together peacefully. It is also situated close to a mountainous area with a big dam and a beautiful waterfall, at the border area of three provinces: Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, and Trang, near a local well-known rafting attraction.
At present, the school offers classes from Kindergarten 2?3 up to Mathayom 3 (Grade 9), with *137 students*, *15 teachers*, and *2 educational staff members*.
The school is committed to nurturing learners with knowledge, morality, and essential life skills to contribute to the development of their community and society.
With DaLaa organization, we have already been working with international volunteers in a near village more than 10 years ago and some villagers remembered our organization. This area is quite remote and the villagers are very caring and supportive.
仕事内容 The main role of the volunteers is to conduct non-formal English classes and organize fun activities for students aged 7 to 15. Volunteers will work in groups of at least 2?3 per class, with around three classes each day. In addition, extra activities will be arranged for the students during their free time and/or in the evening.
Volunteers will also take part in community activities, such as sports competitions and potluck gatherings, which help strengthen relationships between the school, students, and local residents.
** We’ll keep you update 1 month or 2 weeks before the camp starts for a more detailed schedule**
** You will be supervised by DaLaa’s coordinator which will help you and people in this community to connect with one another.
We can’t guarantee about the number of participants (both Thai and international) We will keep informed during the application process.
宿泊 Volunteers will sleep in the classroom. There will be only some yoga mats, pillows, and mosquito nets. We suggest you bring your own sleeping bag, inflatable mattress, or another yoga mat. It’s ok if you don’t bring any of those, but you need to be sure that you will be comfortable in such condition. There are basic toilets, showers and a kitchen at the school canteen. The teachers and villagers are willing to help you to cook as well. Local people eat rice (or noodles) 3 times a day with side dishes like curries, omelets, local leaves and vegetables. Volunteers will be welcome to cook their own food using the ingredients available there. (No oven, only a gas and woks or pans).
