Chich Bong Kindergarten (Childcare)

The volunteer is expected to help the kids with some English teaching, take care of and play with the kids, organize game, teach kids to make handicrafts, drawing, painting, songs, dance or even feed the kids sometimes, etc.

The followings can be expected:

Teaching English (for 4-6 years old kids)
- Teach children basic English through songs, dances and informal education.
- Create educational materials for the children.
- Help kids be more confident in communicating in English

Childcare (2-3 years old)
- Organize games for the children
- Participate in outdoor activities of the school/classes when needed
- Help the teachers with taking care of the children when needed.

Working hours: 8:30 ? 16:30 with a lunch break from 10:30 ? 14:30

Language Lab

Language Lab Volunteers act as conversation partners, supporting learners in practicing real-life communication in English (or other languages). Through interactive sessions, volunteers help build learners’ confidence, promote cross-cultural exchange, and foster a friendly, inclusive learning environment.
- Lead one-on-one or small-group conversation sessions (1?2 learners).
- Encourage learners to speak naturally and share their ideas confidently.
- Prepare simple lesson plans or conversation outlines based on chosen topics.
- Share cultural insights and foster meaningful exchanges
Working hours: from 8.30am to 4:00pm (Mon ? Fri) with a lunch break from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Nguyen Tat Thanh School (English Teaching Assistance)

Upon request of teachers, volunteers run the activities in the class. They are asked to help students develop speaking and listening skills.
Vietnamese schools traditionally favor ‘passive learning’ ? the teacher standing in front and lecturing. This does not help students to gain confidence in speaking. The pronunciation of the English teachers is not excellent so the children have little opportunity to hear English as it is really spoken. Moreover, English levels of students are very different. Some are very outstanding in terms of pronunciation and performances meanwhile, some are very shy to speak out.
Volunteers can think about games or interactive activities to let all students get involved in the lessons.
Working as a local teacher: Each class is run by an English-speaking Vietnamese teacher who teaches according to the governmental English books. The volunteers will join one lesson of the teacher to know how they teach, after that the volunteers will prepare activities and games to practice pronunciation and communication skills with the students. The teacher will let the volunteers lead the class the whole time, during 45’. The volunteers can prepare the lessons freely, choosing the topics, activities, discussions or games they prefer. They do not have to follow the governmental book.
Assisting a local teacher: Some teachers prefer volunteers support them. In this case, volunteer should assist the teacher while doing exercises, correcting the pronunciation, keeping them in silence or helping the teacher in any activity required. If the volunteer does not feel confident he/she can start supporting the teacher, with the possibility to teach alone after some weeks.
Each class has one local English-teacher with 30 to 40 students, depending on the class. Each period lasts for 45 minutes.
The volunteer participates in different classes per day, working from Monday to Friday. The general time frame at school is from 7:50 to 17:20. The lunch break is between 11:15 and 1:05 o’clock. Depending on volunteers’ schedule, he/she has different beginning and ending time.

Here are some possible tasks that you can do there:

- Calling for charity (depends on volunteers)

Working hours: There is no fixed timetable for the volunteers, their working times depend on the tasks they choose for themselves. A usual working day could be from 9 am to 4 pm with a lunch break from 11 am to 2 pm.

Volunteers will be expected to help with the followings:
- Improving listening and speaking skills for students.
- Improving students’ competency in communication.
- Teaching students following the university’s curriculum.
- Organizing games and other activities in classrooms or outdoor in more flexible classes.
Normally volunteers will teach about 30 hours a week. No placements available in summer time (June ? July- August).
Each class has one local English-teacher with 30 to 40 students, depending on the class. Each period lasts for 45 minutes.

Morning Star Center (Childcare)

Volunteers with experience or qualifications in the field of/related care for children with learning difficulties, Down's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy or Autism can help staff with clinical and special educational assistance. While the others can still help with the following tasks:
- Caring for and playing with disabled children (including planning activities)
- Teaching kids drawing, painting, making toys, etc
- Feeding the children during lunch time.
- Fundraising
- Helping with drawing & making decorations for classroom and center
Working hours: from 8.30am to 4:00pm (Mon ? Fri) with a lunch break from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

The Feast of Na Tcha in the Historic Centre of Macao　ナーチャ祭のパレード参加・マカオ文化体験:16才以上

ナーチャ祭りのパレードに参加し、パレードチームの一員として活動。ナーチャの祭りとそのパレードは、マカオで最も魅力的な地域文化イベントの一つ。ナーチャは道教の子どもの神で、邪悪なものを払い、人々を守る存在とされている。ナーチャ信仰はマカオだけでなく、中国の多くの地域にも長く根付いている。この祭りはマカオでは祝日ではないが、多くの人々が主要な道教の宗教行事として祝う。

文化体験：
●広東語ワークショップ。中国南部の文化の活気あふれる本質を発見！会話スキルの練習、日常表現の習得に加え、広東オペラや料理の魅力的な世界にも触れる。
●マカオ世界遺産講座：数世紀にわたる多様な影響を受けたマカオは、ポルトガルと中国の遺産が融合した独特な街。遺跡に秘められた魅力的な物語、建築的意義、そしてマカオのアイデンティティを形作った文化交流について学ぶ。
●中国切り絵ワークショップ。切り絵の歴史と文化的意義について学び、基本から上級までの技法を習得し、独自の精巧なデザインを創作。熟練の実践者による指導あり。
