【11/23 Fri-25 Sun】Weekend workcamp in HIMI/Toyama pref., helping local people harvest wild yams!

◯ Dates: November 23rd - 25th, 2018

◯ Descriptions:
Yashiro district in Himi city, Toyama, - the camp site - is surrounded by rich nature in the mountain between Toyama and Kanazawa cities.
Jinenjo, wild yam in English, is one of the famous foods in Yashiro district as well as the Himi Beef and the Low-Protein Rice.

Recently, local people are loosing their production capacity year by year, because of their ages and lack of young successor.
They organises an NPO group called “Yashiro Patrol Team” to solve their issues, and the team members and the other locals cooperate very well.
Still, people in Yashiro are struggling in decreasing population and farming field becoming wild.

◯ Meeting time: 1:00 p.m. on November 23rd
  * Please let us know if you arrive late.

◯ Meeting point: Himi station (JR Himi line)
  * Coming by car acceptable.

◯ End of camp: 11:00 a.m. on November 25th

◯ Please bring: long-sleeved clothes, a cap, gloves, shoes for mountain trekking, towels, a bottle (to bring water along to work site), local food of your area (if possible), a big SMILE!
  * We will work in the rough area of mountain.
  Wearings and items for mountain trekking are recommendable.

◯ Participation fee: \7,000 / \6,000 for those with NICE paid membership
