In 25th of April 2015, a great earthquake hit Nepal and sadly more than 8,700 people's lives were lost in and around Nepal. More than 17,000 people were injured and millions of buildings were destroyed. The disaster caused a terrible situation in which about 800,000 children are unaible to go to school (a situation at the time of May 2018). Having seen the disastrous situation in Nepal, NICE (Never-ending International work Camps Exchange, NPO in Japoapn) and HIF (Hokkaido International Foundation, NPO in Japan) began a special project "Walk with Nepal" together with a NGO in Nepal FFN (Friendship Foundation Nepal), with which NICE and HIF have over 20 years partnership. The project aims to reconstruct severely damaged areas such as Plung (Daman), Sankhu (Katmandu) and Ugaratara (Banepa) by sending volunteers and also raising funds.
We pray for the victims and sincerely hope for the ealiest recovery and reconstruction of Nepal.

　We have begun these actions below.
1. Safety confirmation: we have to make sure all the volunteers, NGO staffs, and loclas are in the safety. (Sadly, some locals were the victims of the earthquake.)
2. Dispatch of information: We try to share a current situation in areas where volunteers are working via SNS. We also hold charity events and share stories and information from volunteers.
3. Reserching: We sent one of our staffs to Nepal soon after the earthquake occured in order to see the situation and share knowledge regarding restructions. (June 9-13, 2015)
4. Nepal Night: We hold Nepal themed-parties called Nepal Night once in while welcoming some guests such as volunteers, our nepali friends. It is a perfect place for people who have interests in Nepal or volunteering.
5. Sending volunteers: We have workcamp projects in Nepal. (schedule is shown below)
6. Fund raising: We are raising funds for the reconstruction. Part of the partcipation fee will be also used for the reconstruction fund.

参加の流れ

●ＳＴＥＰ１　申込と費用の振込
オンライン申込フォームに記入し、お申し込みください。
また、同時に参加費用をお振り込みください。

●ＳＴＥＰ２　結果通知
通常、申込完了後2週間～1ヶ月程度で（早ければ1週間程度の場合もあり）で、メールで通知いたします。
参加前に（完成し次第）、活動内容の詳細、持ち物、非常用連絡先、集合時間・場所と行き方等を
記載した「案内状」をメールで送付いたします（結果通知と同時にお送りすることもあります）。

●ＳＴＥＰ３　参加準備
必要な持ち物を確実に準備し、事前に十分な情報収集や確認を行ってください。
また、「プレワークキャンプ」（事前準備合宿。詳細は受入時にご案内いたします）」にも
可能な方にはできるだけ参加頂きます。※中長期ボランティアの場合、事前研修への参加必須。

●ＳＴＥＰ４　参加
体調を整え、現地での活動に参加。

●基本的な準備品
・着替え（活動日数×2/3）　・活動的な服装　・洗面具
・個人用薬品　・ライト　・文具　・雨具
＊場所によって多少異なります。詳しくは、受入後に送られる案内状をご参照ください。

参加前の心構え

１．自分自身でも十分な情報収集・確認を行ってください。
２．案内状に記載されている必要なものを事前に必ず準備してください。
３．被災された方への最大限の配慮を行い、常に被災者の視点を忘れずに活動してください。
４．コーディネーターの指示を尊重し、協調性をもって活動してください。
５．写真やビデオ撮影は、被災された方や被災地の気持を配慮して行い、
　　被災された方が特定できる写真は、その方の了解を取ってからにしましょう。
６．単独での行動は避けるようにしましょう
７．被災された方と話をする際は、同じ目の高さに姿勢を合わせ、自然に接することを心がけましょう
　　（被災された方は、その地域で普通に暮らしていた私たちとなんら変わらない人です。）
８．被災された方の立場をできるだけ理解し、自分の判断を押しつけるようなことは避けましょう。

安全に活動を行うために

１．慣れない環境での活動になりますので、自分の体調を見極めましょう。
　　体調が悪い時は、無理に活動をせず、ゆっくり休息を取るようにしてください。
２．活動が終わったら、手洗い・うがいをしっかりと。感染症の予防を心がけましょう。
３．被災地での活動中、お酒は控えるようにしてください。煙草もガス引火の危険があるので禁止。
