Activities and attraction of the work camp:
We have had work camps since December on 2015.  We have worked for maintenance of the castle traces, rice planting, rice reaping and harvest mandarin oranges.  
In this time, we work to maintenance of the castle ruins.  We will maintenance of mountain roads, build up steps, and set up a sign board.  Why don’t you come and join us?  

What is “Mariko-jyo (Maruko castle)”?
“Mariko-jyo” is one of the mountain castles.  It is used for 150 years about 400~550 years ago when the time from early Muromachi period to Sengoku period in Japan.  
It has built up by two Sengokudaimyou (feudal lord during Sengoku period).  The Sankakuyama (Mt.Sanakku) which has an altitude of 136 meters locate center part of  the castle.  The castle extending east to west and has many closed step areas.  The castle was one of key castles because where it is at that time.  It places on the “Toukaidou” as main artery between Kyoto and Kamakura, and important west side defense point of “Sunpu-jyo”.  
The castle which have been used natural geographical features called “Toukai-no-Chihaya-jyo (Chihaya-jyo in Tokai)”, “Chihaya-jyo” was so famous of its strong fortress.   “Mariko-jyo” ruins are known as keep well of those days.  
There has a nature trail which is about 1100 meters now.  You can feel and enjoy old castle’s era taking 1 hour trekking on nature trail there.  But trekking road is not good for everyone.  We want to have many people a trekking easy and relax as walking.  We will work to help and assist local people.  
We wanted people who are interested in maintenance of country hills, local revitalization, and Mariko as “Shukuba-mahci (town serving as a stage)” of “Tokaidou-Gojyusantsugi (53 towns of the main road from Edo to Kyoto)”.  Why don’t you come and join us?

Meeting place: Shizuoka-Station on JR-Line.  We can meet you at the front of rotary police station where is just out of the north side exit.  
*Local people will pick us up.  Please make time punctuality.  

Breaking up: Dec.10th (Sun.),2017 around 14:00 

Belongings: Suitable clothes for work in which you may get dirt (we recommend for long sleeve T-shirts and a pair of long pants), A pair of gloves for work, Towels, A set for spend a night (shampoo will be equipped at a spa), Warm outfit, A sleeping bag, My-chopsticks (please refrain from taking disposable chopsticks)

*Participants with your own car will be able to get special price as taking shuttle tusks.  Please contact us about it when you applicate.  
*Volunteer’s insurance:  NICE members already have one.  We will entry procedure for volunteer’s insurance at once if you should not have one.  Please let us know about it.  The price for insurance will be charged \350 adding on your price.
