Activity and attraction of this project:
There is one of the villages in Isikawa-ken.  Residents are only two people and a cat now.  The place is only a small village with 10 “KOMINKA (old Japanese style houses)” with charm red roofs where called Oozuchi beside having wealthy nature and water, and beautiful terraced paddy fields.  There is one of a place that you can feel original scene of Japan.  They aim at contribution to keep traditional houses which totally concluded in wealthy nature of a country hills and traditional life lasting from before.  They are in need of help to keep their traditional life.  They need volunteer power!  

The subject of this year is “TSUNAGU (meaning is link, connect, sustain, maintain, tie etc.)”.  

We aim to link various connecting between people, food, local communities, nature and etc. with Oozuchi.  

Many young people from domestic and foreign countries have joined the work camp in Oozuchi, and have relayed the baton to next with wishing for Oozuchi will be continued even after 100 year.  Over 100 volunteers have participated this project in 2016 fiscal year.  Please check more on Facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/ozuchi/ 

Work:
In this Weekend Work Camp, we plan to make original pizza!!  You may wonder why pizza making in marginally viable community.  That’s because there is a good pizza oven!  We decided to have a special pizza party in Oozuchi this time.  Let’s make original super special unique pizza and spend fun time with friends and a cat in full of nature.
We also plan to have field work and woodchopping work which need to keep the community.  You can work using your body power.  
We are sure that you would be one of big fans of Oozuchi.

11:00 Meeting at Kaga-onsen Station on JR-Line
12:00 Lunch and Orientation

2nd day

We plan to have a potluck party around “Irori” at night.  You can take your favorite foods and drinks and snacks.  Let’s talk and have a lot of fun with us!
 

We also plan to take “Goemon-buro” type bath under starry sky.  Volunteers can make fire as the first step of “Goemon-buro” besides having a fun to take a bath.  

After the work on 2nd day, we can go to Kaga-onsen near the site together.  Let’s enjoy spa time at Kaga-shi to the fullest.  

You may get so precious experiences there in which have wealthy nature and calm terraced paddy fields and simple life.

As you participate this work camp, you can be understood why the young people are attracted by Oozuchi come out one after another.

Belongings: Suitable clothes for work in which you may get dirt, A pair of sneakers or long boots, A cap, Two pair of gloves for work, Rain suits, A sleeping bag (we may rent you one), A set for spending night (a set for tooth brushing, shampoo, body soap, towels, etc.), Drinks and a light snacks (special product from your place would be more welcomed) for a potluck party at night

*Price includes accommodation fee, all meals, party fee, and fuel for go and back.  
*NICE member can get a special price.
*People who is not NICE member needs to get a volunteer’s insurance (\450). 
*Price does NOT include “ONSEN (spa)” fee (around \400 each).
