開催期間 2025/06/25(水)~2025/07/02(水)
背景 Kenozero National Park in northwest Russia beautifully blends nature and culture, protecting forests, lakes, and remote villages which still keep their traditional lifestyle. Visitors can explore historic wooden churches and landscapes shaped by farming and fishing, while also enjoying opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, and discovering local customs. The park showcases both natural beauty and the rich heritage of northern Russia. For centuries, the land around the villages was used for growing crops and making hay, which was vital for feeding animals like horses, cows, sheep, and goats. However, in recent years, fewer animals are kept, and the fields are slowly being taken over by shrubs and trees. This has changed the traditional look of the landscape.
For many years, we have been working to preserve this traditional countryside by organizing haymaking activities. We invite you to join us in this important effort.
仕事内容 Participants in the "Endless Hayfields" camp will help local people and park staff preserve the area's cultural landscapes. Volunteers will engage in important rural work, like making hay, which combines hard work with joyful moments. They will learn skills such as cutting grass, mowing fields, turning hay for drying, and building haystacks.
While in the park, volunteers can also visit local museums and chapels, walk along nature trails, join workshops on traditional crafts, and explore a historic architectural site from the 18th century.
宿泊 Volunteers will stay in a tourist lodge equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay ? kitchen facilities, furniture, dishes, bed linens, towels, and more. Restroom facilities are simple, eco-friendly outdoor toilets, and traditional Russian banyas (steam baths, sauna). Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners will be prepared by the participants themselves in the kitchen. All necessary cooking equipment (utensils, cleaning supplies, etc.) will be provided. Volunteers are responsible for cooking. During work activities, volunteers will be accompanied by Park staff who are trained to provide first aid if needed. A first aid kit with essential medications will also be available to volunteers
