Saint-Alban-du-Rhone is a commune of 1,000 inhabitants in the Isere department of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region. Bordered by the Rhone River, it enjoys a pleasant natural setting between the Dauphine plains and the Pilat foothills. Just a few kilometers from Vienne and an hour from Lyon, the commune offers a peaceful environment that s still close to major routes. Following on from the workcamps carried out in 2007 and 2008, Saint-Alban-du-Rhone is keen to welcome back a team of volunteers to help beautify and enhance the area. |

127807; Your mission on the Workcamp in Saint-Alban-du-Rhone and 128170;During your stay, you ll be helping to improve and preserve the local environment through two main projects: the upkeep of a forest park and the development of the banks of the Rhone. The aim is to make these areas more accessible, more pleasant and better protected from certain nuisances.127795; Work in the forest parkThe forest park next to the medical center is overgrown, making certain areas difficult to access. Your mission will consist of :9989; Clearing: cutting tall grass, brambles and other invasive vegetation.9989; Pruning and cleaning: removing dead branches and clearing paths to facilitate the movement of walkers.9989; Enhance the site: make the park more welcoming for residents by promoting a pleasant, natural setting.127754; Development of the Rhone river banksThe banks of the Rhone are suffering from damage caused by coypu, which dig galleries weakening the soil and accelerating erosion. To limit these nuisances and protect the environment, you ll be taking part in :9989; Fence installation: install a physical barrier to prevent coypu from accessing the banks and limit damage.9989; Installing a geotextile: place a specific membrane under the wire mesh to stabilize the soil and prevent underground galleries.9989; Maintaining the surrounding area: clearing away garbage and unwanted vegetation to promote a healthier ecosystem.You ll work 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday (mornings). 10024; Why is this project important?Thanks to your commitment, you ll be making a direct contribution to improving the living environment of local residents and preserving natural areas.
