背景 In the spirit of regional understanding and cooperation, three sister voluntary inspired youth organizations namely UVIKIUTA (Tanzania), KVDA (Kenya), UPA (Uganda) forged partnership for a regional caravan camp which will last for 35 days starting from Marangu-Kilimanjaro, Tanzania moving to Vihiga-Kenya ending to Kibonga-Uganda. The primary objectives of the projects are multiple faceted namely regional integration, south-south youth exchange as well as building prosperous and peaceful Africa through youth empowerment, volunteerism and pan Africa exchange as well as scaling up global, regional, and national actions to meet young people’s needs, realize their rights and tap their possibilities as agents of change.

The caravan workcamp is expected to rotate in the three Eastern Africa state in using the undefined routes:
- Tanzania phase: 23.06 to 02.07.2025
- Transit: 02.07 to 03.07.2025
- Kenya phase: 04.07 to 14.07.2025
- Transit: 15.07 to 16.07.2025
- Uganda phase: 16.07 to 26.07.2025
仕事内容 1) First Phase: Marangu-Kilimanjaro (Tanzania)- 23.06.2025 to 02.07.2025
World heritage conservation is an ongoing project involving community members living around the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro for conservation of the world heritage site (Mount Kilimanjaro National Park) through various actions. Music, Arts and Sports and especially football has a significant role in contributing to social and economic development of any society. This project is aiming to join community members, volunteers from East Africa region and across the world to engage using the universal language of Music, Arts and Sports to raise awareness on conservation of Mount Kilimanjaro one of the world heritages.

Volunteers are expected to engaged in the following activities: -
Sports Bonanza |awarding: (Assisting in logistical activities in organization of community sports competitions aiming to increase awareness on the Mount Kilimanjaro conservation).
Music and arts show: Joining local musicians and artists to compose songs, create arts and drama with relevant messages to be presented and shared in public through concerts, media shows etc.
Education and awareness through workshops, Cinema/video presentations in public places on the importance of conserving the world heritage for sustainability.

2) Second phase: (Kenya) 04.07 to 14.07.2025
Roddy’s Eco-Cover Environmental Program is a community-based organization founded in 2011 to champion environmental awareness with forestry as key concern. The project was established by members of the local community with the aim of empowerment for the less fortunate members in the quest to tackle development challenges at the grassroots. Its major focus is on environmental concerns to mitigate the effects of climate change and foster inter-cultural education among the local community. The project is located at Ebuyangu village in Emuhaya constituency in Vihiga country that is situated in Western Kenya along the Luanda to Busia/Uganda highway. It is situated 430 Kilometers away from Nairobi city and its located in an area that is famed for cultural diversity due to the high population density
Volunteers will be engaged in annual work and intercultural activities; Agroforestry that will include tree planting; Preparation of tree nurseries and weeding; Landscaping and tending to bamboo trees in the natural habitat; Clean-up activities; Naming of trees; Home visits; Inter-cultural learning coupled with home visits for exposure to development challenges.

3) Third phase: (Uganda): 16.07 to 26.07.2025
In Uganda the project will be hosted in Kikooba and Bukomero villages in Kiboga District. It is one of the central districts of Uganda bordered by Nakaseke District in the northeast, Masindi in the northwest, Mubende district in the South and Kibale district in the southwest. Kikooba is one of the 8 local branches for Uganda Pionniers’ Association that is located approximately 80 Kms along Kampala-Hoima highway.

The Community is pr?dominant agricultural but gaining small urban influences, the effects of urbanisation like increasing population, household waste generation, limited housing space, and poor farming practices have affected the area in different aspects. Geographically, the area is located in the central dry corridor of Uganda that is characterised by short rainy season and longer drought periods hence affecting economic and social lifestyles of the people.
The project is located in a multi-lingual area though predominantly occupied by the Baganda population, speaking Luganda as a local language. However a few people can express themselves in English and for those that cannot especially during community interactions, the local volunteers shall endeavor to interpret for the international participants. Like most regions in Uganda, the people in this community are hospitable and always interested in sharing and working with people from other cultural backgrounds.

The community has hosted several international volunteers that are promoting environmental conservation through creating awareness in a community school and the residents on garbage management and donation of eco-friendly stoves.

The work campers shall engage in the following activities:- Attending information sharing workshops/Trainings on climate change; Tree planting; Mapping out climate change issues in the local community; Information sharing meeting with the local leaders; Participating in community meetings on climate change awareness; Community clean up to promote hygiene and sanitation;
Participating in games and supports with the local community with climate change theme and Conducting field visits to local organic farms
宿泊 In Tanzania and Uganda Volunteers will be accommodated in a residential house in the community while in Kenya volunteers will be hosted in a homestead to experience cultural diversity and learn to live and interact with members of the host community in an atmosphere of cooperation and solidarity. Volunteers are expected to help in meals preparation, dish washing and kitchen cleaning. Vegetarian meals will be available.
場所 Kilimanjaro [TANZANIA] ; Vihiga [KENYA] ; Kibonga [UGANDA]. The word "Marangu" means a place with too many water streams. It is one of the most popular places in Tanzania. Located at the foot of Africa's tallest mountain, the quaint village of Marangu offers fascinating insight into both modern Tanzanian life and into the lives of the Chagga people who once withstood vicious Masai raids through the ingenious use of tunnels. Majority of residents are farmers growing bananas, vegetables and coffee. Tourism is also part of activities that contribute to the economy of Marangu. Marangu is located about 40 km east of Moshi town, the capital of Kilimanjaro, it is accessible by both private and public transport. Social services including markets, shops, banks, hospitals are available in the community.

Options for leisure activities include: Wild-life safari: Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Tarangire National parks. There are also various packages depending on the available time and budget that includes Mountain Kilimanjaro Climbing, Eco and cultural tourism.

In Kenya there is the possibility to visit the historic sites like Hippo point on Lake Victoria in Kisumu City, renowned Kakamega Rain Forest and the Equator point at Maseno University; among other spectacular sites of interest in the region. However, this will be done most probably during the weekends.

資格 Age 16-99. The volunteer's English level should be sufficient for daily communication and comprehension. C2 level is not required.
備考 Volunteers with interest in environmental conservation, Sports, Arts and Music, those who love to work outdoors, interested in other cultures and local realities will be suitable for this project. It is a project which is going to involve travel and crossing borders.
