背景 For 55 years, the association of researchers "Vladimir Mandi? -
Manda" has been gathering young people from Valjevo and beyond who have the desire to learn something more than what they learn in school, but certainly in a much nicer way.
Their goals are initiation and support in organizing educational programs for young people, popularization of scientific research work and creativity among young people, encourage young people to be active and take part in organized activities, raising awareness of the need to protect and contribute to the preservation of the environment and historical-cultural heritage in the context of sustainable development, promotion and support for the development of volunteerism as well as contribution to solving problems in the local community, better understanding of peoples and cultures, friendship and peace, creating conditions for improving the position of young people and implementing youth initiatives, as well as advocating for adequate verification and affirmation of results achieved by young people.

Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.
仕事内容 The work will be educative and mainly focused on environmental topics.

As researchers from "Vladimir Mandi? Manda" have this practice going on for years now, the scheme is very-well prepared. The accent is on learning, but also on meeting between people and spending time in the lovely nature.

Every day there will be at least one important lecture, that will be led by experienced members of organization. The topics will be chosen there, having in mind practical possibilities (the goal is that volunteers find out something and then apply it next day right there, on the field).

Volunteers, as well, will be invited to make their own presentations of topics they choose.

There will, also, be few workshops on bushcraft i.e. surviving in the natural environment.
宿泊 Volunteers will be accommodated on the field in front of the mountaineer house (that has bathroom). They will sleep in tents, on mats, which will be provided for them, but it is preferable to bring your own sleeping bag (if it can't be, we will provide them, don't worry). The tents will be for two, three and four people, but one gigantic tent for ten people will also be brought, so you can admire its grandiosity. Of course, volunteers that want to arrive with their own camping gear which includes all of the above, are very welcome, as well. In the house, there is a kitchen where every day three or four people (or more, it will be one big group) will be in charge of preparing, setting up and serving meals from ingredients that will be provided. They will certainly not do it alone, but with the support of camp leaders and researchers.
場所 . The first night volunteers will spend in Valjevo, where the offices of local partner are. There they will find out about everything that is done to promote ecological projects and to connect local youth with the world of opportunities.

On the second day, from there to the camp location, bus will be organized.

After that trip, the real camp will take place on marvellous mountain Tara, in Western Serbia, 100 km from the city of Valjevo, and around 200 km from Belgrade, the capital. Its evergreen forests, as well as deciduous ones, alongside picturesque meadows, leave mark in everybody's heart. The mountain offers many hiking opportunities, which end with breath-taking views from the tops, so there are many options for relaxing excursions during the free time (sometimes, you may come by interesting wooden churches in the surroundings).

The group will have a lot of international, but also national, volunteers, since the project will be for local youth, as well. That can only mean that there will be plenty of opportunities to learn about many topics (including the stories about Tara from both, participants and locals that know "the soul of the mountain"), but also about each other, play different games and organize various activities, so the fun you have will be partly up to you and your creativity!

In every case, only thing that we recommend you to bring are patience and smile and then the unforgettable adventure can begin!
集合場所 From Belgrade there are numerous busses and trains to Valjevo, so it can all be organized easily. More informationS you will have in the Infosheet.. Nearest airport is BEG. Nearest train or bus station is Valjevo.
資格 Age 18-106. There are no specific requirements, really.
