The City of Bayawan in Negros Oriental, Philippines has established the Bawayan City Waste Management and Ecology Center (BCWMEC) to manage its solid waste. The BCWMEC includes a materials recovery facility, composting area, sanitary landfill, and wastewater treatment facilities. Currently, 40 tons of waste is generated per day but only 30 is collected. The BCWMEC aims to increase waste diversion through recycling and composting. The Bayawan Solid Waste Management Program is a key initiative aimed at addressing waste management challenges in Bayawan City, which is located in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. This program is part of the city s efforts to adopt sustainable waste management practices, promote environmental protection, and improve public health and hygiene through proper waste disposal and recycling systems. |
