背景 This is the perfect project for eveyone who loves outdoor activities in the mountains.
You will live and work surrounded by with high moors, forests and mountain pastures. You will stay in a mountain hut and improve a hiking hut.

The village of Bernau attracts many tourists - hikers in summer and people doing Nordic skiing during winter. Parts of this fantastic landscape are a nature protected area. Therefore, it is very important to make it accessible to people but at the same time, to make the paths attractive and guide visitors so that they don’t leave the established paths and damage the nature.

Part of a good hiking experience is having spaces to rest. The Neumannsh?tte, that you will help renovate, is one of these places. To make the experience more unique, the village has decided to build a panoramic swing to swing into the landscape.
仕事内容 You will work on the "Hochtalsteig" (High Valley Trail), a 16km award-winning circular hiking trail through the heights of the Black Forest with beautiful views. There you find the 'Neumannsh?tte', a hiking/shelter hut situated at a vantage point above our valley and directly on the much-travelled ‘Hochtalsteig’ hiking trail. This hut needs to be renovated.

Your tasks include:
? Replacing the wood panelling of the hut: You will remove old wood panelling, cut new wood to size and seal it with protective coating.
? Upgrading the barbecue area: You will create new seating made of wood or natural stone.

Additionally, you will help build a panoramic swing. Your tasks here include:
? Building the panoramic swing: Prepare the site, manufacture, assemble and secure the wooden swing and create a visual design as an ‘insta-spot’ with panoramic orientation.

You will work under the professional guidance of staff from the municipal service department. Please be prepared for long outdoor activities.
宿泊 You will stay at 1.100m altitude in a mountain hut surrounded by forest and pure nature. The hut was build by the black forest hikers association. You will find a simple kitchen, a room for having meals and spending free time and a dormitory with mattresses on the floor. There are two toilets and running (cold!) water. Electricity is provided (but mainly used for the lights, only very few plugs), so it could be good idea to have a power bank. Please bring a sleeping bag and a pillow. There is no Wi-Fi, os data will be needed. For showering you can go to the camping area near by with the workcamp car. So, it is a special experience and an extraordinary place to stay if you agree with simple conditions. You will cook with the group your meals and be responsible with the group to celan after yourselfs.
場所 Bernau. Bernau is located in the highest part of the Black Forest. The accommodation is at an altitude of more than 1.000m. As many tourists visit the area in summer and winter, you can find many attractive places, sights and leisure time offers.

A perfect camp for nature lovers!
集合場所 The place is quite isolated and approx. 3 km from the tiny village, but by chance there is a bus stop for hikers nearby called “Rotes Kreuz, Bernau im Schwarzwald”. Please check www.bahn.com for a connection from anywhere in Germany to this bus stop. There is a bus every two hours on Sunday afternoons. But the last bus of the day arrives already at 6pm. Please do your best to arrange your travel in a way that you can reach the campsite with public transport.. Nearest airport is ZRH. Nearest train or bus station is Next train stations: Seebrugg or Waldshut Next international bus stop: Freiburg.
