背景 | The Association Togolaise des Volontaires au Travail (ASTOVOT), with over 60 years' experience, welcomes a large number of international volunteers every year for voluntary projects lasting from 3 weeks to 12 months in Togo. These projects, which also involve around 200 national volunteers, promote intercultural exchanges. A member of the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCSVI-UNESCO) and the Network of Africa Voluntary Organisations (NAVO), ASTOVOT works with organisations in Europe, Asia, America and Africa. Its projects focus on community development, particularly in the fields of education, health, the environment and the renovation of social and community infrastructures |
仕事内容 | This summer, ASTOVOT is organising an international project to provide socio-educational activities and produce a collection of stories in the village of Agom?-Tom?gb? in Togo. The aim of the project is to mobilise children and the local community around the importance of culture, education and the preservation of oral heritage. The aim is to organise socio-educational and leisure workshops focusing on the collection of Ew? folk tales, which will then be compiled for future use in Togo's schools. Aims of Project: ? Promoting Togolese culture and heritage: Through traditional storytelling, this project aims to preserve and pass on the stories, myths and legends of the different regions of Togo. ? Strengthen social and educational skills: Socio-educational activities enable participants to learn to work together, develop critical thinking skills and gain a better understanding of social and educational values. ? Encouraging creativity and participation among young people and children in the village: By involving young people, children and parents in creative and storytelling activities. ? Publishing WORKS: Storytelling workshops and story collection: Sessions to collect traditional stories from children, young people, the elderly and local storytellers. Animation workshops: Activities (reading, games, theatre, sports) for children. Training in socio-educational leadership: Training volunteers in leadership techniques, group management and the use of storytelling as a learning tool. Story writing and editing: Transcription, rewriting and structuring of the stories for publication, with the participation of the volunteers and the ASTOVOT team. Creation of a collection of stories: Layout, printing and distribution of a collection with illustrations and information about Togo's traditions. Storytelling shows: Organisation of shows in schools, villages or festivals to promote and pass on the tale |
宿泊 | Accommodation is simple and adapted to each project site. Volunteers are accommodated in rooms of three or four, with the mix depending on how the groups are organised. Depending on the location, dry toilets and waterless showers can be used. The association provides plastic or foam mats, and volunteers can bring their own sleeping bags if necessary. Drinking water is available on site, but access to electricity and the Internet may be limited due to load shedding and difficulties accessing the network. FOOD: During the workcamp, the volunteers will prepare their own meals. An internal organisation will divide the domestic tasks, including cooking, between the groups on an alternating basis. The food used will be a mixture of local, imported and sometimes organic products. The diet of each volunteer will be taken into account when preparing meals. In addition, volunteers will have access to a variety of tropical fruits, such as bananas, oranges, pineapples, mangoes, avocados, papayas, etc. |
場所 | Agom? Tom?gb? ( Kloto). Agom?-Tom?gb? is a picturesque village in the Kloto prefecture, 15 km from Kpalim? and 145 km from Lom?. Thanks to its pleasant mountain climate, it offers visitors the opportunity to discover remarkable natural sites and enjoy its rivers. The region boasts a wide variety of landscapes and a wealth of agricultural activity, growing tropical produce such as bananas, oranges, pineapples, soursops, avocados, coffee, cocoa and papaya. Agom?-Tom?gb? also stands out for its efforts to get girls into school, with an inclusive and effective education policy. Leisure activities: In addition to the main activities of the workcamp, several other activities are offered, such as discovery walks, hikes, festive outings and cultural encounters. These activities give volunteers the opportunity to interact with local people and discover Togolese culture. At weekends, group excursions are organised by the volunteers and their leaders to explore the region's tourist sites. It is important to note that the cost of excursions and outings is not included in the participation fee. |
集合場所 | When you arrive at Lom? airport, a member of the organisation will meet you and take you to your accommodation in Lom?. Taxis from the airport to the hotel cost between ?10 and ?15. Transport to Kpalim? is by bush taxi or minibus. ASTOVOT's head office, where the volunteers meet and where the project starts, is 121 km from Lom?, a journey of between 1 hour 45 minutes and 2 hours. The price of a taxi between Lom? and Kpalim? is around 3,000 FCFA (?5), but extra charges may apply. It is recommended that you pay 5000 FCFA for the driver to take you directly to the association's head office.. Nearest airport is LFW. Nearest train or bus station is Bus Station Lom?-Kpalim?. |
追加登録費 | 220 EUR(募集時のレートでは約35,000円)現地到着時に現金払い。 |
資格 | Age 18-70. This project requires certain qualities on the part of volunteers: motivation, patience, team spirit, solidarity, sharing and listening, ability to adapt... etc. |
備考 | Language of project : The main languages on the project are English and French. However, we recommend that non-French speakers have a basic knowledge of French before they arrive, as French is the official language of Togo. In addition, the vast majority of local volunteers and community members have a limited level of English. Purpose of extra costs: Astovot, like all associations in Togo, receives no government subsidies. Its projects are funded by the volunteers' participation fees, which amount to ?220 for 2 to 3 weeks. This sum covers accommodation, food, support for the group, administrative costs and the purchase of equipment for the project. The funds are divided as follows: 3/4 for project activities and 1/4 for ASTOVOT's administrative management. |
