Permaculture farm in Cartago

Depending on the phases of the moon and time of the year, we will work on different agricultural activities in the following areas of action in our project:

* EDIBLE FOREST:
- Bioocntrol fumigating and fertilizing with compost
- Sowing, planting, mulching, irrigating, and harvesting
- Pruning fruit or coffee trees
- Protecting plants from leafcutter ants, other insects, and disease
- Chopping and weeding vetiver grass that hols the curves in place
- Opening growing beds

* GARDENS
- Biocontrol fumigatin and fertilizing with compost
- Sowing, planting, irrigating and harvesting
- Mulching and weeding
- Protecting plants from leafcutter ants, other insects, and diesease
- Opening growing beds

* NURSERY
- Plant propagation by seeds and cuttings
- Water and weeding plants

* COMPOSTING
- Turning compost that comes out of the kitchen once a week
- Filtering the compost that is ready to be used, once every month or two months

* HARVESTS AND PROCESSING
- Cleaning, measuring, and storing the crops taken from the edible forest or orchards

* BIOCONSTRUCTION
- Varying new infrastructure projects, and maintaining current infrastructure
- Harvesting, preparing, curing, varnishing, and building with native Guadua bamboo
- Making or reinforcing structures with natural plasters
- Designing and building furniture
- Maintaining and organizing tools in the bodega

* SECONDARY FOREST
This area is mainly worked on by Don Humberto, normally no one else works with him, since volunteers tend to collaborate in the aforementioned areas. Only a person with knowledge in botany, biology, or a related discipline, who can work with him in Spanish, could collaborate on the project of:
- Mapping and inventory of plants in this area, which covers approximately half of this land.

* ONLINE PRESENCE
- Assist with managing our social media and website desing
- Provide marketing and sales strategies if the volunteer has prior experience with this field
- Writing blog or articles about experiences at the farm

If the person has specific skills in fields like construction, bioconstruction, carpentry, marketing, and tropical species identification in the secondary forest, we will invite them to focus their participation in one of those specific areas.

Red de Voluntariado Hospitalario

The activities planned to be carried out are focused in covering the basic needs of a hospitalized person. That includes:
- Prepare activities like games or reading sessions
- Containment and support for family members.
- Collaboration in Internment Rooms, External Offices, Pharmacy and Sterilization.
- Outpatient Orientation.
- Delivery of clothes, personal hygiene items, toys, books and diapers
- Administrative support

It is important to note that the volunteers are not authorized to perform any technical task, for which the hospital already has staff.

These are tasks that support the work of the Foundation's teams. They are
generally tasks related to communication, the development of materials and documents, and project design. We promote the development of skills for work in this type of activities.
- Cooperate in everyday activities to promote volunteer services international in Argentina and the world.
- Search for new projects and funds, organize events, donations.
- Help in organizing events in different areas. Collaborate in the development of the methodology of meetings between young people.

Bosque Urbano

Volunteerings are spaces where we learn while we work, we share knowledge and take care of the space. We transplant, irrigate, identify species, remove invasive species and weeds, plant, make cuttings, fertilise and care for this great biodiversity.
The weekly agenda consists of the following activities:
1. Tuesday: Organic Garden Day.
2. Wednesday: Compost and biodigester day.
3. Thursday: Reproduction and care of native plants.
4. Friday: Biodiversity conservation.

The activities planned to be carried out are:
-Help in daily activities.
-Collaborate in infrastructure improvement and general maintenance
-Get involved in the planning and implementation of recreational and educational activities related
to the environment.
In general, the task of the volunteers consists in collaborating with the maintenance of the space,
participating and assisting in weekly scheduled activities and accompanying visitors who participate
in them.

Engranajes offers the space and activities for the various actors of the community to meet and project themselves, improve the quality of life of their communities and strengthen values such as solidarity, citizen participation and social responsibility for their environment. In this way, citizen participation is promoted by inviting volunteers and neighbours to participate in this process.They consider that generating a space for contact with people from other countries is an added value to their project objectives.

Te activities planned to be carried out are:

-Help in daily activities.
-Collaborate in food processing and delivery to the children.
-Search for materials and supplies needed for the workshops.
-Planify and carry-out recreational and educational activities for children and youth.

In general, the task of the volunteers consists in collaborating with the project activities and accompanying the young people who participate in them.

Support teachers of institutes of teenagers with special needs

RESCUE CENTER - CLINIC FOR WILD ANIMALS JB

①救助チームの一員として現場での個体の捕獲・回収に同行、②動物受け入れ時の状態確認・チェック、③回復中の動物への投薬・ビタミン投与、④新生児動物への授乳、⑤回復中の動物のモニタリング・データ収集、⑥獣医助手としての補助、⑦野生動物の入院関連業務全般、⑧果物の収集や市場での買い出し、⑨食事の準備・栄養食の調整・給餌、⑩環境教育や見学グループへの案内、⑪小道やケージのメンテナンス(必要に応じて)、⑫放獣チームの一員として、必要に応じて国内の別地域に同行し、自然環境への動物の再導入を実施、⑬事務作業の補助、など。勤務時間は原則8:00?17:00(昼休み1時間30分)。動物の緊急対応時には早朝・夜間の勤務あり

Work in a bilingual academy

午前中は1-5才までの子ども25人とまで活動し、午後は3-9才までの子ども20人と活動している。午前は6人のスタッフ、午後は3人のスタッフで対応。ボランティアと一緒に活動できることを大変ありがたく思っており、子どもたちがバイリンガルスキルを身につけることを目標としている。ボランティアには、英語のアクティビティを通じて教師をサポートしてもらう予定で、子どもたちが異なる文化や英語のさまざまな発音に触れることは、私たちのアカデミーにとって非常に重要だと考えている
