Food Not Bombs

KARELIAN CULTURE CAMP

The work for volunteers is designed to be diverse. On rainy days, tasks include cleaning and organizing the school and its garden. On sunny days, volunteers will remove invasive plant species (such as wild lupine and Himalayan balsam) from roadsides and clear overgrown areas.Additionally, volunteers will assist in setting up and dismantling traditional celebration events, helping in the community cafe, and other related tasks. The work is a mix of hands-on outdoor activities and indoor maintenance, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience for all participants. Most importantly the volunteers will be able to immerse themselves into this lively and welcoming community with rich cultural traditions.

Animal Academy in Fuerteventura II

Most of the tasks are manual and try to support the inhabitants of the shelter; so be prepared for cleaning, feeding, and especially loving the shelter's animals. Some construction or modification of the infrastructure might be needed. It will depend on the daily needs of the shelter and therefore you might need to support an event, support a presentation or simply participate in a festival. Flexibility and open-mindedness is a MUST.

Working hours are from 8.00 am to 12.00 plus 2 hours in the afternoon. Volunteers SHOULD BE READY to work actively and realize that the group dynamics and the necessities of the animals need mature and responsible volunteers. If you feel more as a tourist THIS IS NOT YOUR PLACE.
Remember that the island is dry and that you will get dirty every day working with animals

World heritage Conservation - Eastern Africa Caravan camp

1) First Phase: Marangu-Kilimanjaro (Tanzania)- 23.06.2025 to 02.07.2025
World heritage conservation is an ongoing project involving community members living around the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro for conservation of the world heritage site (Mount Kilimanjaro National Park) through various actions. Music, Arts and Sports and especially football has a significant role in contributing to social and economic development of any society. This project is aiming to join community members, volunteers from East Africa region and across the world to engage using the universal language of Music, Arts and Sports to raise awareness on conservation of Mount Kilimanjaro one of the world heritages.

Volunteers are expected to engaged in the following activities: -
Sports Bonanza |awarding: (Assisting in logistical activities in organization of community sports competitions aiming to increase awareness on the Mount Kilimanjaro conservation).
Music and arts show: Joining local musicians and artists to compose songs, create arts and drama with relevant messages to be presented and shared in public through concerts, media shows etc.
Education and awareness through workshops, Cinema/video presentations in public places on the importance of conserving the world heritage for sustainability.

2) Second phase: (Kenya) 04.07 to 14.07.2025
Roddy’s Eco-Cover Environmental Program is a community-based organization founded in 2011 to champion environmental awareness with forestry as key concern. The project was established by members of the local community with the aim of empowerment for the less fortunate members in the quest to tackle development challenges at the grassroots. Its major focus is on environmental concerns to mitigate the effects of climate change and foster inter-cultural education among the local community. The project is located at Ebuyangu village in Emuhaya constituency in Vihiga country that is situated in Western Kenya along the Luanda to Busia/Uganda highway. It is situated 430 Kilometers away from Nairobi city and its located in an area that is famed for cultural diversity due to the high population density
Volunteers will be engaged in annual work and intercultural activities; Agroforestry that will include tree planting; Preparation of tree nurseries and weeding; Landscaping and tending to bamboo trees in the natural habitat; Clean-up activities; Naming of trees; Home visits; Inter-cultural learning coupled with home visits for exposure to development challenges.

3) Third phase: (Uganda): 16.07 to 26.07.2025
In Uganda the project will be hosted in Kikooba and Bukomero villages in Kiboga District. It is one of the central districts of Uganda bordered by Nakaseke District in the northeast, Masindi in the northwest, Mubende district in the South and Kibale district in the southwest. Kikooba is one of the 8 local branches for Uganda Pionniers’ Association that is located approximately 80 Kms along Kampala-Hoima highway.

The Community is pr?dominant agricultural but gaining small urban influences, the effects of urbanisation like increasing population, household waste generation, limited housing space, and poor farming practices have affected the area in different aspects. Geographically, the area is located in the central dry corridor of Uganda that is characterised by short rainy season and longer drought periods hence affecting economic and social lifestyles of the people.
The project is located in a multi-lingual area though predominantly occupied by the Baganda population, speaking Luganda as a local language. However a few people can express themselves in English and for those that cannot especially during community interactions, the local volunteers shall endeavor to interpret for the international participants. Like most regions in Uganda, the people in this community are hospitable and always interested in sharing and working with people from other cultural backgrounds.

The community has hosted several international volunteers that are promoting environmental conservation through creating awareness in a community school and the residents on garbage management and donation of eco-friendly stoves.

The work campers shall engage in the following activities:- Attending information sharing workshops/Trainings on climate change; Tree planting; Mapping out climate change issues in the local community; Information sharing meeting with the local leaders; Participating in community meetings on climate change awareness; Community clean up to promote hygiene and sanitation;
Participating in games and supports with the local community with climate change theme and Conducting field visits to local organic farms

Taevaskoja Youth Camp 1　自然の中のユースキャンプで異文化交流

キャンプに参加する子どもたちの年齢は、7-12才。
現地のコーディネーターによって組まれた毎日のプログラムの実施を手伝う。主な活動は、エストニアとボランティアの出身国との違いや共通点（歴史、伝統、言語、歌、踊り）を発見する異文化学習を、アート、ゲーム、演劇、スポーツ、ディスカッションなどを通して行うこと。ボランティアは、自国の文化（伝統舞踊、ゲーム、日常生活、名物料理など）に関連したワークショップを実施。現地のプロの教育者、ユースワーカー9名のスタッフと協力して活動する。

このキャンプでは、ボランティアが地元の人々や公園スタッフと一緒に、地域の文化的景観を守るための農作業に携わります。干し草作りという、重労働と楽しさが入り交じる作業に挑戦します。

ボランティアは、草を刈る、牧草地を刈り取る、干し草を乾かすために裏返す、干し草の山を作る、といった技術を学びます。

滞在中は、地元の博物館や礼拝堂を訪問したり、自然歩道を歩いたり、伝統工芸のワークショップに参加したり、18世紀の歴史的建築群を探索することもできます。

Rebuilding Nature in Pen?guila I

This summer workcamp in Pen?guila invites motivated teens to contribute to the recovery of the local natural and cultural heritage. After a recent fire damaged part of the Phytoclimatic Route leading to the historic Jard?n de Santos, volunteers will help restore this unique botanical area through tasks such as gardening, environmental clean-up, painting, manual restoration, and replanting.

In addition, participants will support the local museum, help with maintenance tasks, and engage in creative work to beautify public spaces. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to connect with the community by organizing a weekly visit to a local senior center, sharing moments and activities with the elderly.

The project is coordinated in close collaboration with the Pen?guila Town Hall, so tasks may also include other helpful activities according to the town’s needs. This workcamp offers a meaningful and hands-on way to make a difference, learn new skills, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of this charming mountain village.

古代リキア文明の現存部分の環境・文化調査をDemreで行う。リキア文明とフェニキア文明の時代から、海上交易はこの地域の数千年にわたる文化であり、毎年カボタージュ祭が開催されている。ボランティアは祭りの準備と運営に参加する。
また、有名なリキア街道の清掃や整備にも携わる。古代リキア街道は、高速道路建設により危機に瀕しており、ボランティアが入ることで人々の意識を高める。この地域はカレッタウミガメの生息地でもある。ウミガメに関する補助作業もある。

PITKIS-SPORT

The volunteers will act as assistant sport instructors in the English speaking children camp, where the kids can try a variety of sports. The volunteers will be working with a group of children who speak English as their mother tongue or want to learn English. Their tasks involve guiding the children in the camp area, helping with meals and transitions. The volunteers make sure that the children move safely in the area, stick to the schedule and act according to the rules. The volunteers will also assist the cooking team to prepare breakfast for the children and distribute food. Working clothes will be provided by the camp host.

Workcamp participants are invited to work in different fields: manual, artistically, pedagogical. During the youth camps, you will communicate with kids from diverse backgrounds and join their activities. You will support the camp in logistic areas and support the construction and decoration of an artistic project. It would be helpful to prepare in advance and offer your own workshop ? whether artistic, musical, or athletic?and bring fresh and inspiring ideas. In addition, all volunteers will have the chance to introduce their countries. You should collect ideas at home and bring necessary materials for a creative presentation, including pictures, food, games, or other typical things from your countries. Further details will be provided after the placement in the workcamp. Besides the announced activities, the volunteers will also need to take responsibility by leading groups of young campers in daily works like catering and cleaning.
Study part: The study part of this workcamp will focus mostly on the question about life between past and future, tradition and modernity, small-town life and global correlations. Working at “Himmelsfels“ always encourages encounters between people from different cultures and diverse background.

Na Fir Bolg! A solidarity and alternative festival

ハードワーク。フェスティバル開催前、ボランティアは後方支援として、水道や電気設備の設置、会場周辺の柵の設置、ステージやバックステージの設置などを行う。これらの作業が完了後は、装飾やポスターなどフェスティバルの最後の仕上げを手伝う。フェスティバルの期間中、ボランティアは自由にコンサートに参加し、フェスティバルの生活を楽しむことができます！フェスティバル終了後は、会場の解体や清掃を手伝い（通常2日、長くても3日間）片付けが終わると、残りの日程はベルギーの都市や地域の文化訪問にあてられます。
作業時間が予定より長くなる日もありますが、1日6時間を超えることはありません。
