Solidarity and Hope : At the heart of the Mother Teresa Centre

The ‘M?re T?r?sa de Calcutta’ home in Kpalim? is one of the local partners with which ASTOVOT runs social projects. Most of the patients cared for by the sisters at this centre are poor or abandoned, and therefore have no family to look after them. This volunteer workcamp aims to offer moral support, and also allows volunteers to bring their compassion and love to the sick and vulnerable by taking part in various activities that help to improve their physical and mental health.

Aims:
The aim is to promote residents' well-being and provide them with companionship, entertainment and activities tailored to their needs.

Works:
Companionship and active listening: Offering time for socialising, talking or playing games to combat loneliness and provide personal attention to residents.
Help with daily tasks: Assisting residents with their daily activities, such as getting around or organising their personal space.
Creative and recreational workshops: Organising painting, music, gardening or craft workshops to stimulate creativity and break the routine.
Cleaning and maintenance of the centre: Take part in light maintenance and beautification of communal areas to maintain a pleasant environment.

Totovo squad in action

During the camp volunteers will do many different activities, from planting an alley of flowers and mowing the lawns, to sanding and painting wooden sculptures in the local park, then prepare the ground for the new statue in the Memorial Park. In the landscape house, for wooden objects protective material will be used in order to preserve the texture. If time allows, there will be a space to create new totems and put them in the park.
Also, this year the volunteers will help in making of 5m high vantage point.

Heartbeats for Historical Brewery　小さな村で歴史ある石垣の再建。醸造所見学

かつて敷地内の馬小屋の端にあった歴史ある石垣の再建。崩れたモルタルの継ぎ目の補修、草木が生い茂ったために撤去された石の取り替え、窓のペンキ塗り、建物周辺の雑木の剪定、廃棄物の収集とコンテナへの運搬、溝掘りなどの細かなメンテナンス作業など。
【学習テーマ】作業開始の前に「歴史ある石垣の修復」のワークショップを受ける。ガイド付きで城内や醸造所を見学、地元の博物館や錦織の展覧会、この地域の傑出したバロック様式の神聖なモニュメントを訪れる可能性も。地元コミュニティとの会合：例えば、地元の彫刻家、教師、3Dプリンターを使ったジュエリー職人、あるいはウィップクラッキングの世界チャンピオンなどに会うチャンスがある！

Tibetan Culture & Social Development 農村開発に貢献し、チベット文化を学ぶ

1週間目は、農村にあるRUCHI本部にて、典型的な山村の文化やライフスタイルを体験。女性のエンパワーメント、淡水資源の保護、有機農業など、RUCHIが現在行っている活動に参加する。

2週目は、観光地であり、チベット亡命政府の事務局でもあるダラムシャーラ(Dharamshala)のマクラウドガンジ(Mcloedganj)に移動。ここでは、チベット人、僧院、博物館、学校などを訪問し、チベット僧の語学の授業に参加する。 清掃活動などを行う可能性も。 それ以外では、この週は観光と文化の共有に重点を置いて活動

Feel the life

This project is divided into two key components. The first focuses on supporting selected families in improving their livelihoods through activities such as gardening, home gardening, plant nurseries, and small-scale domestic production. The second component, called 'Visit Community,' offers volunteers the unique opportunity to connect directly with local women’s groups, village youth, families, and kindergarten children. During these visits, volunteers share their stories and experiences while gaining a deep insight into local culture and the true essence of everyday life in the community

KIDS CAMP IN GUANGLONG

Guanglong Community is located in the southeastern part of Taiping District at the foot of Chelongpu Mountain Range. It is bordered to the north by Xinglong Village, to the south by Yonglong Village, and to the west by Changyi Village, with the Toubiankeng River serving as the natural boundary. With an area of 3.1059 square kilometers, it is a village that was reborn after experiencing the horrible quake happened in Sep. 21st 1999.This project aims to provide a meaningful holiday experience by pairing volunteers with children in need of guidance and support in their learning journey. Participants will engage in activities such as reading, tutoring, and creative workshops, fostering an encouraging environment for the kids growth and development. Aims:Taiping District is a peripheral area of Taichung City, and Guanglong. Village is a quiet community located in the Chelongpu region of Taiping.Due to the scarcity and unequal distribution of resources, children have limited access to education, particularly in English learning environments. Faced with these challenges, the local community still lacks a comprehensive understanding of its own culture and social values.To address these issues, we aim to host a workcamp in Guanglong, fostering global understanding, sparking children s interest in learning, and enhancing their English abilities through in-depth interactions between local residents and international youth.Project Objectives:1.Enrich learning experiences in Guanglong by introducing new companionship programs led by both global and local volunteers.2.Promote friendship, understanding, and cultural exchange by involving local residents and international volunteers in agricultural activities.3.Lay the foundation for children s international perspective and inspire their diverse creative abilities.4.International Culinary Exchange: Enriching the culinary experiences of community residents by learning and sharing cooking techniques from different countries. ヨーロッパNATURE2000の指定地域“Teile des Sidosisteirischen Higellandes”の景観保全団体 “LEiV” (Verein Lebende Erde)と連携して活動。牧草地では干し草の収集、森林では外来種の駆除作業を行う。活動の核となるのは地域とそこに生息する野生生物の保護に関する伝統的な作業術を通してこの団体の支援。 European-Roller Festivalに参加。周辺に生息する素晴らしい保護区を訪ね観察する機会あり。

UNVEIL THE OLD TOWN

Zhongli District in Taoyuan City was originally settled by the Hakka people. The valley formed by a stream was called Li in the Hakka language, and the location surrounded by Laojie River and Xinjie River was named Jianzai . During the Japanese colonial period, the area was renamed Zhongli Street , which became the main road connecting the north and south.The area near the Laojie River(32769;34903;28330;) is known as the Laojie District , and it is home to Japanese-style buildings, century-old shops, Hakka culture, and the Laojie River which has greatly influenced the local way of life. Unfortunately, with the passing of time, many local youths and immigrants are no longer familiar with the historical context of this area. In order to preserve this unique cultural heritage, we hope to raise awareness and interest in the history of Zhongli Laojie District and achieve the goal of cultural preservation.Host Organization Chung Yuan Christian University(20013;21407;22823;23416;) is built upon the principles of Christian love for the world. With unwavering faith, hope, and love, we strive to advance higher education. To encourage our teachers and students to engage with society through Love and Professionalism , and to empower our students to integrate their knowledge into action through Learning by Doing , the University established the Office of Service Learning Project in March 2007. This project was later renamed the Service Learning Center in March 2008, with the purpose of promoting service-learning courses and projects in a systematic and ongoing manner. The Center also encourages our students to participate in social services, fulfill their civic responsibilities, and develop their core competencies for future employment.In 2019, we expanded our efforts by taking over the Taolien Youth Volunteer Service Center from the Youth Development Administration, Ministry of Education. A flight to the end of the world 2

団体は、多様な背景を持つ人々を毎年迎える“生きた交流の場”。 2023年には、学びと実践の場として、協同の食堂「Au bout du monde」をオープン。
このプロジェクトでは、訪れる人々が気持ちよく過ごせるよう、入口周辺の改修を進めていく。 毎朝約4時間、伝統的な石工技術を学びながら作業。

このプロジェクトの目的は、バクセロールのサン・ジャック・エ・サン・フィリップ教会の壁の修復を続けること。教会は11世紀にさかのぼるが、壁はセメントで塗られており、湿気の排水が不十分で、塩分が発生している。専門の技術監督の指導のもと、まず壁からセメントを取り除き、その後湿気を取り除き、最後に石灰で塗り直す。その他の伝統的な石工技術も学ぶことができる。作業服や汚れても良い服を持参すること。安全設備は提供される。資格は必要ない。1日4?5時間の作業になる。

Preserving the H?tellerie stone wall

ヴォニエールの村にあるホテル建物の南側ファサードの保存作業を行う。この石造りのファサードは現在、断熱材で覆われており、仕上げが非常に傷んでいる。そのため、作業の第一段階として、断熱材を取り除き、古い石造りを露出させ、その後、石をモルタルで再接着し、接着用のプラスターを塗る。地元の専門家がプロジェクトの各段階を指導。いくつかの作業では足場を使用。毎日、グループのメンバー2名が交代でチームのために食事を準備し、メニューは事前に決定。作業は月曜日から金曜日までの午前中。全体的に、作業内容は石工、道具の準備、食事の準備、コミュニティ生活の組織と整備を含む。

WASH BACK IN TIME : RESTORING MATOUR'S WASH’HOUSES

自然に囲まれた活気ある村、プレニャンで、地元の人々に愛されているコミュニティカフェ「L’Hydroberge」に新たな命を吹き込むお手伝いをします。このプロジェクトの目標は、インクルージョン、平等、環境責任という価値観を推進しながら、この代替的なスペースを出会いや交流の場に変えることです。

現地では、コンサートホールの壁や家具を改装することで、ホールの復元作業に参加します。経験は不要です。もし、これまでに大工仕事や石工の経験がなくても心配いりません。すべては学びながら進めることができます。重要なのは、あなたのモチベーションと、この有望なプロジェクトに創造性を持ち込む意欲です。
