Education in sustainable development and eco-citizen actions

Description:
Educating children to protect the environment and listening to their views on the subject is a guarantee for the future of our planet.
The Education Project on Sustainable Development, Eco-citizenship and Climate Change is an initiative that aims to educate and engage young Togolese in the fight against climate change and environmental protection.
Aims:
The aim is to raise schoolchildren's awareness of sustainable development, the effects of climate change and eco-citizen actions to encourage them to take action to protect the environment.
Works:
- Activity 1: Introductory workshop on sustainable development, climate change and eco-citizenship. The aim is to build the capacity of young people in Kpalim? to understand the concept of sustainable development, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), eco-citizen actions and climate change.
- Activity 2: Planting fruit trees in a school in Kpalim?. In these activities, the young people trained will have the opportunity to plant trees in a school.
- Activity 3: Creation of a club called the ‘Green Club’, which will be responsible for raising awareness among other young people in the community and schools, and for ensuring the continuity of activities relating to sustainable development and climate change;

Intercultural exposure

The major aspect of this project will be focusing on community life styles. Volunteers and Community members will have an opportunity to experience and exchange both work and leisure behavior patents in various activities, attitudes, interest, opinions and values. This provide an opportunity to reflect on each involved person’s self-image or self-concept, the way they see themselves and believe and believe they are seen by other others. This is expected to be a composite of motivation, needs and wants influenced by factors such as culture, family, reference groups and social classes. In realization of the above objective;

Volunteers will join series of activities that will include: - Community economic Life (I do what they do): Participation in the daily of the community members. This will include working in a small businesses, farming, hand craft, Arts, taking care of animals and other daily economic activities of the community members; Social-Cultural life: Participate in various social aspects of community life including traditional medicine and health care (Learning and experience), Rituals: Visiting ritual sites, learning and understanding, Ceremonies: Participating in wedding, initiation and other traditional and religious ceremonies available during that time. Computers and Oratory Art: Learning and Sharing

As it does every summer, ASTOVOT is organising introductory computer courses for the children of the Zomayi district and surrounding area, and more specifically for secondary school pupils. This summer we have decided to combine the computer courses with a public speaking component. The aim of this type of initiative is to help children develop practical skills while contributing to their personal development through a number of modules that will be taught.

? Hands-on workshops: Learning-by-doing sessions where students handle computers and discover different functions (writing a text, using a search engine, etc.).
? Theory lessons: Explain basic concepts about computers, how an operating system works, networks and online security.
? Awareness-raising sessions on digital security and good practice on the Internet.
? Public speaking: Workshops on public speaking, debates, role-playing and practical exercises in front of a group.

Solidarity and Hope : At the heart of the Mother Teresa Centre

The ‘M?re T?r?sa de Calcutta’ home in Kpalim? is one of the local partners with which ASTOVOT runs social projects. Most of the patients cared for by the sisters at this centre are poor or abandoned, and therefore have no family to look after them. This volunteer workcamp aims to offer moral support, and also allows volunteers to bring their compassion and love to the sick and vulnerable by taking part in various activities that help to improve their physical and mental health.

Aims:
The aim is to promote residents' well-being and provide them with companionship, entertainment and activities tailored to their needs.

Works:
Companionship and active listening: Offering time for socialising, talking or playing games to combat loneliness and provide personal attention to residents.
Help with daily tasks: Assisting residents with their daily activities, such as getting around or organising their personal space.
Creative and recreational workshops: Organising painting, music, gardening or craft workshops to stimulate creativity and break the routine.
Cleaning and maintenance of the centre: Take part in light maintenance and beautification of communal areas to maintain a pleasant environment.

DUNENYO: Cultural and Solidarity Crossroads

Every summer, the inhabitants of Kuma-Apoti (Togo) and the diaspora gather to celebrate the Dunenyo-Za festival, dedicated to development. These solemn moments allow us to reflect on the future of the village, promote youth education and make resolutions for its development. During this period, cultural and community actions are organized. ASTOVOT, a partner of the village, is launching an international cultural immersion project with solidarity actions aimed at promoting cultural exchanges and positively impacting local development.
Aims:
? Promote intercultural exchange: Encourage mutual understanding, respect and appreciation of different cultures by organising cultural events, workshops and meetings.
? Positive impact on local communities: Implement concrete actions supporting their social and local development within the framework of the theme chosen for this edition.
? Strengthening links between cultures: Creating a network of exchanges in which each culture plays an active part in sharing its skills, traditions and knowledge.
Works:
? Participation in community work with the local population and national volunteers: (public hygiene, reforestation, maintenance of rural tracks and socio-collective infrastructures, inaugurations, etc.);
? Organisation of socio-educational activities with village children (games, sports, songs and dances, etc.);
? Immersion in the families and folk groups of the village;
? Organisation of and participation in walks, hikes and waterfalls in the villages and mountains surrounding the village of Kuma-Apoti;
? Setting up venues for concerts and cultural events;

SAVWA Orphan Care Support 児童養護施設で子ども達の感情に寄り添い支援

子どもの感情や日常生活をより良いものにする支援やケアを提供。最も重要なことは、子ども達一人ひとりにとって最善の利益となるようなサービスやプログラムを提供すること。最悪のケースを見たかと思うと、また新たなケースに出くわす。虐待者は、肌の色、信条、年齢を区別しない。南アフリカでは児童虐待が蔓延しており、残念ながら国の未来である子ども達を守るために十分な対策がとられているとは言えない。政府は貧困家庭への支援に責任を持たず、その結果、最も貧しい人々が生き残ることがますます困難になっている。虐待と貧困は、ストリートチルドレンや捨て子の赤ちゃん遺棄の主な要因。ボランティアは、赤ちゃんの世話や、家の掃除などの直接的な活動をする。ボランティアや寮母と相談し、その他具体的にどのような活動が必要か検討しながら活動

Educational activities for the children of Y?vi?p?

During the school summer holidays, ASTOVOT organises, in collaboration with the village of Y?vi?p?, an international work camp providing socio-educational activities and educational support for the village's children. This is a solidarity initiative in which national and international volunteers come together for three weeks to provide help in educational and recreational contexts, often within the library built by ASTOVOT and the primary school in the village of Y?vi?p?. The aim is to help support the children's schooling, while at the same time providing recreational and creative opportunities for them to flourish.

Aims of Project:

? For children: This helps to combine learning with pleasure, boost self-confidence, improve academic results and encourage creativity.
? Improve children's reading, writing and speaking skills in French and other subjects too.
? For the volunteers: It's an enriching experience that allows them to make a positive contribution to society, develop teaching skills and create social links.

WORKS:
Homework help: Volunteers offer support to students in subjects such as mathematics, French, foreign languages, etc.
Educational workshops in an interactive and playful way.
Personalised support: Volunteers can organise more individualised follow-up for certain children with special educational difficulties.
Afternoon activities with children:
Educational games: Offer games that stimulate creativity and learning, such as board games, puzzles, role-playing games, or group activities.
? Creative workshops: Drawing, painting, sculpture, DIY from recycled materials... These workshops allow children to develop their artistic expression while having fun.
Sports and recreation: To encourage cooperation and teamwork, sporting activities such as football, and relay races may be organized.
