National Park Hunsr?ck

The park rangers of the National Park Hunsr?ck-Hochwald are waiting for your support to preserve the fauna and flora in this unique natural environment and to provide endangered species with their original habitats again. At the same time it is a great opportunity for you to learn a lot about this ecosystem, the rangers will show and explain a lot.

Three main tasks are waiting for you:

1. Care of the nutrient-poor grassland and arnica meadows (mowing works, work to stop spreading of shrubs etc.). With this work you can protect a valuable habitat with a very high biodiversity. This is especially the case for insects such as bees and butterflies and flowering plants such as orchids.

2. You will work on the wildlife park of Wildenburg Castle. Here you can find wolves, deer, wild boars, wildcats, mouflons and many other animals. Your task will mainly be to renew wooden fences and to build elements where the animals can hide behind. You will also construct wooden barriers to protect small trees from damage through the animals.

3. Let’s give water its natural space back! Within the National Park there are many places where the natural flow of water was changed (through cutting the curves of the streams or drainage channels etc.). In many cases this alteration is negatively impacting the biodiversity of these creeks. You will therefore help to restore the natural flow of the water by closing the channels and revitalizing natural flow elements.

Other environmental protections tasks can be added. Be aware: The work might be physically hard and you will get wet and muddy for sure! Please bring hiking boots and working clothes.

ALDEA ALFACUCA

In the parish of Louredo in the municipality of Mos, we find this village, Aldea Alfacuca, restored with small and old buildings. These constructions were made around 1670, by Mr. Alonso Blanco. This project aims to help revitalize and recover an old village, providing it with spaces of community interest that can be visited by the neighborhood and where to know aspects of both Mos and our culture and ethnography.

INTERVENTION: For this edition, the interventions are based on 3 axes:
- "Gardening" rotation: care (pruning, tutoring, renewal of hedgerows...) of the sensory garden and the edible forest planted in 2022.
- Rotation of debarking of Acacias: to deepen what started the previous year and continue to free Aldea Alfacuca from the presence of these invasive trees.
- Rotation of rehabilitation and conditioning of the village's facilities: providing the existing spaces with greater possibilities by placing decking in the rehabilitated buildings that have a concrete slab on the floor; installation of a bathroom in the cabins that have the installation of plumbing and water; surrounded by buildings that have not been rehabilitated...

Educational activities for the children of Y?vi?p?

During the school summer holidays, ASTOVOT organises, in collaboration with the village of Y?vi?p?, an international work camp providing socio-educational activities and educational support for the village's children. This is a solidarity initiative in which national and international volunteers come together for three weeks to provide help in educational and recreational contexts, often within the library built by ASTOVOT and the primary school in the village of Y?vi?p?. The aim is to help support the children's schooling, while at the same time providing recreational and creative opportunities for them to flourish.

Aims of Project:

? For children: This helps to combine learning with pleasure, boost self-confidence, improve academic results and encourage creativity.
? Improve children's reading, writing and speaking skills in French and other subjects too.
? For the volunteers: It's an enriching experience that allows them to make a positive contribution to society, develop teaching skills and create social links.

WORKS:
Homework help: Volunteers offer support to students in subjects such as mathematics, French, foreign languages, etc.
Educational workshops in an interactive and playful way.
Personalised support: Volunteers can organise more individualised follow-up for certain children with special educational difficulties.
Afternoon activities with children:
Educational games: Offer games that stimulate creativity and learning, such as board games, puzzles, role-playing games, or group activities.
? Creative workshops: Drawing, painting, sculpture, DIY from recycled materials... These workshops allow children to develop their artistic expression while having fun.
Sports and recreation: To encourage cooperation and teamwork, sporting activities such as football, and relay races may be organized.

Together for community 2 (Zajedno za zajednicu 2)

Since the school is regarded as place where many important activities are happening, it is also notable that many local organizations have strong connection with it. The same will be in this case, as well. The project can be defined only by 3 areas on this platform, so we can't describe everything that will happen there, but here we can write more on that.

Volunteers will do many tasks in cooperation with many associations in Po?ega. With those of social character, it will be decided which families are in need for additional support, so that volunteers can help to those in danger with their regular activities. Then there will be some visit to the local association of those with cerebral paralysis (help and workshops should be done there). Also, volunteers will be participating in the activities with local Gerontological center, where they might take care of the garden, but also meet older people that will be glad to participate in some workshops with guests.

Still, we shouldn't forget that there will be things to do in school's yard, as well, with picking up the raspberries (one of the Serbian national fruits) and blackberries (another among many; Serbia is simply the land of fruits). Planting seeds, taking out the bad plants, feeding the animals-just few of planned actions that will be done during the stay in this marvellous place.

As volunteers are minors, work will be naturally adjusted to everyone.

Gumundo_2

Participants will spend a night in Yeosu with all participants, exploring the city before heading to Geomun Island. There, they will collaborate with professional artists to create artwork using marine debris, household waste, and natural materials which are collected by participants in the island. They will also take part in producing artworks that benefit the local community such as painting and artcrafts. In addition to these creative activities, participants will have time to enjoy Geomun Island’s stunning beaches and beautiful ocean.

Participants will also have the opportunity to share their diverse cultures with local elementary and middle school students through food, games, art, clothing, photography, and more. This cultural exchange will allow both participants and students to experience the joy of diversity and gain valuable insights from different traditions and perspectives.

Discover Archeology

The volunteers are asked to help on the excavation ground of the fortress with building work, repairing and painting walls, carrying stones or cleaning. Other tasks can be removing of bushes or documentation of your work. Furthermore, there are restoration works and embellishments in the village and the nearby hiking trails in the Thuringian forest. It is possible that you will be asked to help on another excavation place to do punctured excavations (1m x 1m) and filter the finds. Please be prepared for any work outside.

Project: Comic Workshop



International Study Camp III: August 11?23, 2025
Week 1: Visit the Sachsenhausen Memorial and learn about its different areas and history, followed by a visit to the German Resistance Memorial to explore the history of those who resisted the Nazi regime.
Week 2: Participate in a comic workshop, creatively exploring the themes of solidarity and resistance.

Study part:
The history of Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp and the Soviet Special Camp are the focus of this part of the study. You will learn about the life stories of former prisoners who were interned here from all over Europe. Why were they persecuted? What was their daily life in the camp like and how did they try to survive? Visits to exhibitions, memorials and museums in Oranienburg and Berlin as well as discussions with experts are also part of the program.

Work part:
Participants will perform maintenance and gardening work on the memorial grounds. No special skills are required for the simple physical work.

Organising activities with people with disabilities at Ch?teau Vert

Volunteers will be asked to set up workshops in collaboration with the educational staff and the centre's seasonal working students: dance, board games, music, etc. They will be invited to help the residents during their meals and in everyday situations, always with the support of the educational staff. Volunteers can accompany the residents during outdoor activities organized by the center and propose different activities based on their skills or cultural background (e.g., artistic, manual). A special event will be organized during the stay. An intercultural meal is scheduled to introduce the residents to traditional foods from the volunteers' home countries (volunteers will have access to the adapted kitchen, which must remain clean an operational for the next day’s meals).
